Monday - December 22, 1997: Conroe, TX to Galveston, TX
Got a late start after Brad woke to do some work (as usual) and drove to Galveston Island! About an hour and a half south of Conroe. Got there in time to drive by Desi's grandmother's old house (a lovely, big brick thing, well preserved and decked out in holiday trimming by the folks who live there now) and drive along the Seawall a bit before retiring to a motel, cleaning up for dinner, and eating at Joe's Crabshack (because Gaido's, an old favorite of Desi's Family, was closed by the time we got there). Brad had the "Crab Explosion" at Joe's (which turned into an explosion of a different kind the next morning...but we won't go there).
