Friday - December 19, 1997: Los Angeles, CA to Conroe, TX
We arrived today in the Lone Star state at Houston Intercontinental Airport after a harrowing 5 hour flight in the back row (no windows!) from Los(t) Angeles, California. Drove out in our rental car to Cut-N-Shoot, Texas where Desi's dad, Hugh lives along with daughter Julianne (age 14 - five days shy of 15), son Sixten (age 22), daughter Rand (age 25), her boyfriend Mark (24), cousin-by-marriage Jeff (age unknown). Also met other daughters and sometimes house-occupants Loren (age 13), Adrianna (age 11) and daughter visiting from D.C., Adair (age 18). Also visiting was daughter Dottie (age 35), her bald but still swell husband Paul (age 37) and finally Hugh's ex-wife Sandra (age unknown) in from Pheonix for Rand's graduation from Sam Houston State University to happen tomorrow...Accomodations at the Days Inn yield only one small baby cockroach in the bathroom, so things are not too bad.
